Amidst the hardship, touching stories emerged from the residents. Rawani, a resident of Pargumbangan Village, recalled the terrifying night when the flood struck. “The flood came at around 2:00 AM. The river’s roar was deafening, and my house is only one meter from the riverbank. The water rose to waist level and only receded by 10:00 AM. This is the worst flood since 2017,” she recounted. With gratitude, she acknowledged that clean water and food supplies were among the community’s most urgent needs.
