New Skills, New Hope for Electrical and AC Repair Training Participants

A total of 30 participants from 10 villages and sub-districts in Batang Toru District, along with two representatives from the Tapanuli Selatan Vocational Training Center (BLK), officially completed the Electrical and Air Conditioner (AC) Maintenance and Repair Training organized by Agincourt Resources. The closing ceremony was held on Friday, 23 May 2025, at the Auditorium of the Center for Vocational and Productivity Training (BBPVP) Medan, marked by the awarding of training certificates and work equipment to all participants.

This training program forms part of Agincourt Resources’ long-term commitment to promoting local economic development and empowerment, particularly in communities surrounding the company’s operational area. The company believes that enhancing community capacity through practical technical training can open up employment opportunities and foster economic self-reliance. Conducted over 29 days since 21 April 2025, the program reflects a tangible contribution to strengthening the skills of the local workforce. 

In his virtual remarks, Agincourt Resources’ Community Relations Manager Masdar Muda expressed his appreciation to BBPVP Medan for the strong collaboration, including the provision of facilities and support from certified instructors. He also encouraged participants to apply their newly acquired skills effectively, whether to establish independent businesses or work in relevant industries. “These skills are more than just knowledge, they are opportunities to contribute directly to community life in the villages,” said Masdar. 

One of the participants, Feri Hutagalung from Wek IV Village who took part in the electrical training, also shared his gratitude. “We now feel more confident to either work professionally or start our own businesses back home. This training has truly paved the way for our future,” he said. 

The program was officially closed by the Head of BBPVP Medan, Faried Abdurahman Nur Yuliono, who conveyed his hope that participants would be well-prepared for the upcoming competency assessment conducted by assessors from the Professional Certification Institute (LSP). The closing of this training marks the beginning of real-world application of the skills acquired, while also strengthening a sustainable local economic ecosystem.
