On Saturday, 28 June 2025, Agincourt Resources once again demonstrated its tangible support for community development through a parenting seminar and talk show entitled “The Role of Parents as Their Children’s Best Friends in the Digital Era.” The event took place at Sopo Daganak, Napa Village, and was organized by Pengelola Sahabat Cerdas (PERSADA), an independent organization that manages the Sopo Daganak Art Studio (SANIPODA) and the Children’s Reading Park (TBA) in the Batang Toru and Muara Batang Toru areas. PERSADA is one of Agincourt Resources’ community-supported initiatives.
The seminar aimed to introduce PERSADA’s programs to the wider public while equipping parents with the skills to accompany and shape their children’s character. Its primary focus was on preparing future generations to excel by aligning the roles of family and educational institutions. The participants included parents and children actively involved in TBA and SANIPODA activities.
The keynote speaker for the event was Indonesia’s National Storytelling Maestro and Founder of Kampung Dongeng, Awam Prakoso. In addition to the seminar, on Friday, 27 June 2025, he also facilitated a soft skills training session for the PERSADA, SANIPODA, and TBA facilitators. The training emphasized character building, leadership, and communication, using storytelling as an integral method in parenting.
Christine Pepah, Senior Manager for Community at Agincourt Resources, stated, “The best investment is in the future of our next generation. Through our support for this parenting initiative, we hope to help equip parents with the knowledge and skills needed to become their children’s best allies, especially in today’s challenging digital era,” she said.
