On Saturday, July 26, 2025, Agincourt Resources, in collaboration with Yamantab Waste Bank (BSY) and local volunteers, held a cleanup activity in its assisted mangrove conservation area in Aek Garut Village, Pandan Sub-district, Central Tapanuli Regency. The event was part of the 2025 Mangrove Day commemoration, aimed at preserving coastal ecosystems and raising environmental awareness.
Reni Radhan, Public Relations Manager at Agincourt Resources, emphasized that protecting mangrove areas is essential for carbon absorption and climate change mitigation. “This ‘from the heart for the earth’ cleanup is not just about collecting trash, but about restoring the environmental, social, and economic values of mangrove forests,” she stated.
The cleanup was conducted at three key points, including the dock and mangrove nursery, with participants comprising students, environmentalists, Navy personnel, and PLN UP3 Pandan employees. The collected waste included hard plastics (bottles, cups), soft plastics (wrappers, bags), and other debris such as plastic sacks, banners, and mats.
All waste was sorted and not sent to landfills. Instead, it was washed, dried, and partially processed into ecobricks. Unprocessed waste was transferred to BSY for further management. The event also reinforced eco-conscious behavior by encouraging the use of sustainable utensils, such as banana leaves and reusable tumblers.
