The growing popularity of coffee shops among young people highlight the vast potential of the coffee industry. To respond to the demand for professional baristas, Agincourt Resources, together with the Manpower Office of South Tapanuli Regency, officially launched the National Professional Certification Agency (BNSP) Barista Training and Certification Programme in August, 23rd – 2025 at Sopo Daganak, Napa Village, Batang Toru Subdistrict.
This initiative represents the company’s tangible commitment to strengthening the capacity of local human resources, while also addressing the challenge of providing skilled workers who are able to compete in both business and industrial sectors.

In her remarks, Manager Community Development Rohani Simbolon explained that the training was a follow-up to a proposal from Sofyan Adil, the Regional Secretary of South Tapanuli Regency during the 2025 programme synchronisation meeting. She emphasised that the training is expected to produce skilled workers who understand the philosophy of coffee and are capable of developing businesses in a coffee shop management, both at the Martabe Food Court and within the wider community.
The programme was officially opened by Head of the South Tapanuli Regency Manpower Office Achmad Raja, who expressed his appreciation to Agincourt Resources for its commitment to supporting human resources development despite the ongoing government efficiency measures. He added that coffee is one of South Tapanuli’s leading commodities, particularly Sipirok Coffee, which deserves greater exposure. With this training, participants are expected to promote the potential of local coffee to a broader markets.
The training was attended by 16 participants from six villages and subdistricts in Batang Toru. The curriculum covered coffee history, introduction to raw materials, workplace management, machine operation, and customer service. One of the participants, Lia Agustina Ningsih from Aek Pining Subdistrict, shared that she felt greatly supported by the programme as the skills gained would have a significant impact on her career development. She expressed her hope that Agincourt Resources would continue to organise more training initiatives across various sectors, thereby further improving the quality of human resources in South Tapanuli.
