World Clean Up Day is an annual social movement that aims to address the issue of poorly managed waste. Since 2024, it has been officially recognised by the United Nations (UN) and is observed in more than 200 countries. This year, Indonesia adopted the national theme “Towards a Clean Indonesia 2029” as a long-term commitment to achieving a healthier and more sustainable environment.

One of the campaigns highlighted during this year’s event was the Cigarette Butt Campaign, which draws attention to the following facts:

• Cigarette butts are the most frequently found waste in the environment.

• A single cigarette butt contains more than 150 toxic substances and is made of plastic.

• It is estimated that 4.5 trillion cigarette butts end up in the environment every year.

• One cigarette butt can pollute up to 1,000 litres of water and takes up to 15 years to decompose.

We extend our gratitude to all employees who actively participated. May the spirit of Clean Up Day continue to live in our daily routines, because protecting the Earth can begin right where we work.
