Improving the quality of healthcare services so that they are optimal, equitable, and responsive to community needs remains a key priority in South Tapanuli Regency, particularly in the Batang Toru and Muara Batang Toru districts. This initiative aligns with the Cooperation Agreement between Agincourt Resources, the South Tapanuli Regency Health Office, and the Technical Implementation Unit of the South Tapanuli Regional General Hospital. To ensure that medical service standards are met while also reviewing the implementation of specialist doctor service programmes, Agincourt Resources conducted a Monitoring and Evaluation activity on 14 January 2026.

Throughout 2025, programme implementation included healthcare services provided by three specialist doctors at Batang Toru Community Health Centre, benefiting a total of 3,847 patients. In addition, Free Health Check Social Service activities were carried out in eight remote areas of South Tapanuli Regency, reaching 1,766 beneficiaries. The services delivered were not limited to curative care, but also covered promotive, preventive, and rehabilitative efforts, supported by the provision of medicines prescribed by doctors through partner pharmacies.
On the same occasion, the Head of the South Tapanuli Regency Health Office, Dr Sri Khairunnisa, expressed her appreciation to Agincourt Resources for the partnership that has been established, particularly in supporting community healthcare programmes. The evaluation process generated a range of important information, including patient distribution mapping and data on the ten most prevalent diseases. This information serves as a strategic foundation for follow-up actions in regional healthcare planning.
In response to the strong level of community interest, services provided by the three specialist doctors and the Free Health Check programme continue to be delivered by the same medical professionals, namely Dr Syahreza Hasibuan, Sp.A (Paediatric Specialist), Dr Ryan Andrian, Sp.OG (Obstetrics and Gynaecology Specialist), and Dr Abdus Somad Harahap, Sp.PD (Internal Medicine Specialist). Each specialist serves up to 15 patients per day, while the Free Health Check activities reach up to 150 patients per location. Information about the programme is disseminated through village midwives, village heads, and promotional materials on medicine packaging at partner pharmacies to encourage equitable access to services across all areas.

Medicines are provided based on each patient’s medical condition, while specialist services at Batang Toru Community Health Centre focus on initial treatment and early detection. Patients requiring further care are referred to appropriate healthcare facilities. To improve access for communities living far from service locations, Batang Toru Community Health Centre also implements an outreach approach, commonly referred to as a “door-to-door” service. Collaboration between specialist doctors, general practitioners at the Community Health Centre, and Social Service programmes supports the policies and directives of the South Tapanuli Regency Health Office. In 2026, Social Service activities are scheduled to be conducted six times, with the first programme planned to take place in Muara Upu, Muara Batang Toru District, on Saturday, 31 January 2026.
The monitoring and evaluation activity was attended by the Community Development Manager of Agincourt Resources, Rohani Simbolon, along with representatives of Agincourt Resources management. Also in attendance were the Director of Sipirok Regional General Hospital, Drg Muhammad Firdaus Batubara; the Head of Batang Toru Community Health Centre, Elida Handriani Batubara, SKM, M.Kes; the Head of the South Tapanuli Regency Health Office, Dr Sri Khairunnisa; as well as staff from Batang Toru and Hutaraja Community Health Centres.
