Building a culture of environmental responsibility cannot be achieved overnight. It requires continuous learning, active participation from the entire school community, and consistent guidance to ensure that environmental values become deeply embedded in everyday behaviour.
As part of its commitment to supporting environmental improvement and community education, PT Agincourt Resources, through its Community Development and Empowerment Programme (PPM), conducted the Adiwiyata Programme Coaching and Mentoring Initiative from 20–23 July 2026. The programme was implemented across 11 partner schools that are preparing to achieve National Adiwiyata School and Independent Adiwiyata School status.
A total of 330 participants, comprising supervising teachers, Adiwiyata teams, Adiwiyata student ambassadors, and other members of the school community, took part in the programme. The mentoring activities were carried out in collaboration with the Regional Environmental Agency of South Tapanuli Regency and the Semut Merah Environmental Care Foundation as implementing partners.
The programme commenced with the launch of the 2026 initiative and an evaluation of the 2025 programme. Participants then received guidance on the requirements, assessment indicators, and verification mechanisms of the Adiwiyata Programme. Schools were also assisted in reviewing document completeness, compiling supporting evidence of environmental activities, and ensuring that all required information aligned with the established assessment criteria.
In addition to strengthening administrative readiness, the mentoring programme supported schools in preparing data entry and document submission through the Adiwiyata Information System (SIDIA). Through this process, schools are expected to present evidence of their environmental initiatives in a more systematic, organised, and nationally compliant manner.
Manager Community Development Agincourt Resources, Rohani Simbolon, explained that the Adiwiyata Programme represents one of the company’s contributions to the School Environmental Awareness and Culture Movement (Gerakan Peduli dan Berbudaya Lingkungan Hidup di Sekolah/GPBLHS). According to her, the programme’s primary objective is not merely to achieve recognition, but to foster environmental awareness and responsibility from an early age so that these values become lifelong habits.
Herman S. Siregar, Head of the Environmental Pollution and Damage Control Division at the South Tapanuli Regency Environmental Agency, expressed his appreciation for the support provided by PT Agincourt Resources in strengthening the development of Adiwiyata schools. He encouraged participating schools to make the most of the mentoring opportunities available to help them become more independent and sustainable institutions.
Through this initiative, partner schools are not only being prepared for the Adiwiyata assessment process but are also encouraged to consistently implement environmentally responsible practices. Ultimately, it is hoped that environmental stewardship will become part of each school’s identity and inspire younger generations to play an active role in creating a greener, healthier, and more sustainable future.
