Access to quality healthcare services is a fundamental need for every community. On 29 July 2026, Agincourt Resources once again delivered its Specialist Medical Outreach Programme for residents of South Angkola Sub-district, South Tapanuli Regency, at Simarpinggan Community Health Centre (Puskesmas). The programme was made possible through collaboration between Agincourt Resources, the South Tapanuli Regency Health Office, and South Tapanuli Regional General Hospital (RSUD).
Through this initiative, community members were able to receive free medical consultations, examinations, and treatment directly from specialist doctors without the need to travel long distances to a hospital. Three specialists participated in the programme: paediatrician dr Syahreza Hasibuan, M.Ked (Ped), Sp.A; obstetrician and gynaecologist dr Ryan Andrian, M.Ked (OG), Sp.OG; and internal medicine specialist dr Abdus Somad Harahap, M.Ked (PD), Sp.PD.
A total of 173 residents benefited from the healthcare services provided. This included 44 patients receiving paediatric care, 40 patients consulting with the obstetrics and gynaecology specialist, and 89 patients receiving internal medicine services. The programme was open to all members of the community, ranging from infants and young children to expectant mothers and older adults.
In addition to consultations and medical examinations, residents also received a range of supporting healthcare services, including ultrasound (USG) examinations for pregnant women, electrocardiogram (ECG) tests to monitor heart health, blood glucose, cholesterol, and uric acid screenings, as well as supplementary nutrition support.
Rohani Simbolon, Community Development Manager at Agincourt Resources, explained that the initiative forms part of the company’s commitment to improving access to healthcare services, particularly for communities living in areas with limited healthcare facilities. The Specialist Medical Outreach Programme has been implemented continuously over the past three years, and this year marked its fourth delivery in South Angkola Sub-district. Similar programmes had previously been conducted in Simarpinggan, Sihuik-Huik, and Sironcitan Village.
“We hope this programme will provide tangible benefits to the community. In addition to receiving medical examinations, residents have the opportunity to consult directly with specialist doctors, gain a clearer understanding of their health conditions, and receive medication free of charge,” said Rohani.
The programme also received appreciation from the South Tapanuli Regency Government. Representing the Head of the South Tapanuli Regency Health Office, Health Office Secretary Suryadi described the initiative as an innovative approach that brings specialist healthcare services closer to rural communities. According to him, the direct presence of specialist medical professionals at the sub-district level significantly helps residents access faster and higher-quality healthcare services.
Through initiatives such as this, Agincourt Resources continues to strengthen its commitment to growing alongside the community. After all, health is not merely a service—it is a vital foundation for creating a better, more productive, and more prosperous quality of life for all members of society.
