This position, located at the Martabe Site within the Processing (Maintenance) Department, will report directly to the Supervisor of Mechanical Maintenance.
The role of the Mechanical Fitter is to provide hands-on support to the Mechanical Supervisors, ensuring that maintenance, modifications, servicing, and installation activities by the mechanical maintenance team are conducted professionally, safely, diligently, promptly, and cost-efficiently. This must be done while prioritizing the needs of the Process Plants and the associated infrastructure’s mechanical equipment and apparatus.
Candidates for this position are expected to meet the following qualifications and criteria:
- Graduated from a Polytechnic or Technical training institute, or completed an approved apprenticeship with Mechanical Fitter qualifications.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar position within a Mineral Processing Plant in the mining, oil & gas, or a similar heavy industrial environment.
- Experience and knowledge in maintaining fixed plant equipment such as jaw and cone crushers, belt/screw conveyors, vibrating screens, SAG/Ball/Vertical mills, pumps, compressors, hydraulic systems, and VPA filter presses.
- A good understanding of world-class and Indonesian mining standards, including associated safety standards (SMKP, ANZS, BS, IEC, and ASTM).
- Experience in mechanical maintenance, problem-solving, and inspection processes.
- Experience with mechanical installation methods and practices.
- Good knowledge of occupational hazards within the mineral processing industry.
- Ability to interpret mechanical drawings.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to understand and efficiently carry out written and oral instructions.
- Experience with maintaining VPA filter press machines is preferred.
- Ability to prepare materials and equipment required for tasks/projects.
- Ability to prepare reports and maintain accurate records.
- Computer literacy.
- Basic understanding of Computer Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
