Agincourt Resources once again demonstrated its commitment to empowering surrounding communities through intensive training for 35 home-based culinary entrepreneurs. The three-day event, held from August 1 to 3, 2024, in Sumuran Village, Batang Toru District, aimed to enhance the capacity of business owners in managing finances and marketing their products.
The training, which involved participants from 15 villages/urban villages around the mine, featured two expert speakers from Jakarta. Chantika Putri Kehi Lau, an expert in business finance management, and Alexander Agung Satrio, a branding and product marketing expert.
On the first and second days, participants were introduced to the importance of good bookkeeping in managing business finances. With structured bookkeeping, business owners are expected to be able to clearly separate personal and business finances, so that business decisions can be made more effectively.

On the third day, the training focus shifted to product marketing strategies. Participants were given an understanding of the importance of building a strong brand, as well as various marketing channels that can be utilized to expand market reach.
Agincourt Resources Community Development Manager, Rohani Simbolon, expressed her hope that this training would have a positive impact on business owners. “We hope that the knowledge gained can be directly applied to their businesses, so that they can improve competitiveness and income,” she said.
Novita Sari, one of the training participants, said, “Previously, I didn’t have a good bookkeeping system. Through this training, I realized the importance of recording every transaction. I am confident that by applying the knowledge I have gained, my business will be more organized.”
