In an effort to foster economic independence among the community, Agincourt Resources held a youth entrepreneurship workshop for the entire Tapanuli Selatan Regency. The event, which took place on Thursday, October 31, 2024, at the Mega Permata Hotel in Padangsidimpuan, successfully attracted over 100 participants from various backgrounds.
Rohani Simbolon, Community Development Manager at Agincourt Resources, revealed the primary objective of this event. “We aim to ignite the entrepreneurial spirit among the younger generation, particularly in Tapanuli Selatan. This workshop seeks to identify young entrepreneurs, both those just starting out and those looking to expand their businesses. Subsequently, we will provide continuous motivation and mentorship,” she stated.

Agincourt Resources has demonstrated its commitment to supporting local business growth through various programs. One example is the mentorship provided to the Satahi Refillable Drinking Water Depot in Muara Huta Raja Village. Additionally, the company has facilitated the participation of culinary business groups in exhibitions and provided training to sewing and handicraft groups in various villages.
Novita Sari Wahyuni, Head of the Trade and Cooperative SMEs Department of Tapanuli Selatan, expressed her appreciation for Agincourt Resources’ initiative. “We hope that events like this can continue and give birth to more young entrepreneurs in Tapanuli Selatan. This is a very positive step towards improving the community’s welfare,” she said.

One of the participants who has benefited from Agincourt Resources’ program is Shanty Budi Lestari, the Head of the Tapanuli Selatan Batik Cooperative. “Thanks to Agincourt Resources’ support, our batik is now widely recognized. My message is, never give up and keep innovating,” she said.
