Agincourt Resources has provided learning equipment to 14 Children’s Reading Gardens (TBAs) in Batang Toru and Muara Batang Toru districts, managed by the Smart Friends Association (PERSADA). The handover was conducted on Thursday, October 28, 2024, at Sopo Daganak, Napa Village, Batang Toru District.
The assistance provided includes bookshelves, shoe racks, carpets, and a sound system, along with cash of Rp 145,323,000. The aim of this program is to increase children’s interest in visiting TBAs, improve the quality of informal education, and provide safe and comfortable facilities for children to learn and play.
Agincourt Resources Community Development Manager, Rohani Simbol, said, “Through the Community Development and Empowerment (PPM) program, Agincourt Resources is always committed to supporting education programs in villages. We hope that with this assistance, the quality of informal education in 14 TBAs can be improved and provide greater benefits for the community,” she said.
One of the TBA observers, Djoet Meutia from Bintang Taman, Sipenggeng Village, expressed her gratitude for the support provided by Agincourt Resources. “We are very grateful for the assistance provided. With more complete facilities, we are confident that more children will be interested in coming to the TBAs. This is very beneficial for increasing children’s reading interest and learning,” she said.
