Agincourt Resources Sweeps Awards at the 21st IFRC, Enhances Disaster Preparedness

In the 21st Indonesia Fire and Rescue Challenge (IFRC) held at Garuda Rescue Nusantara (GRN) PT Putra Perkasa Abadi (PPA) in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan, from October 22-29, 2024, the Emergency Response Team (ERT) of Agincourt Resources achieved several championship titles. This remarkable achievement was obtained in various competition categories, namely 2nd place in the Height Angle Rescue Event, 3rd place in the Underwater Rescue and Recovery Event, and the Best Captain award. The IFRC itself is an annual competition aimed at improving the competency and capability of disaster response teams, especially in the mining sector. 

Agincourt Resources’ success in this event not only brought pride to the company but also demonstrated its commitment to improving workplace safety and preparedness for various potential disasters. Sofyan Ali, Senior Supervisor of the ERT at Agincourt Resources, who also served as a national judge in this event, stated that this competition was an excellent platform for rescuers to learn from each other and share knowledge. 

Hendra Gunawan, Director of Engineering and Environment and Chief Mine Inspector, expressed his high appreciation for the 21st IFRC. According to him, this event plays a very important role in improving the competence of emergency response teams throughout Indonesia.

“I hope that activities like this can continue to be carried out regularly to improve our preparedness in facing various disasters. I also invite all parties to fully support the ESDM Disaster Preparedness program,” he said. 

As a form of active participation in improving the competence of emergency response teams, representatives from Agincourt Resources, including Senior Manager of Human Capital Development Sandra V. Makadada, Manager of OH&S and Training Development Haris Sihaloho, and Supervisor of Sponsorship & Event Management Tia Manurung, were present to study best practices in organizing similar competitions and to gather references for the upcoming Sumatera Fire Rescue Challenge in May 2025, which will be held at Agincourt Resources.
