Batangtoru, 26 March 2021–PT Agincourt Resources, the operator of Martabe Gold Mine, reorganised the 2021 E-Coaching Jam (ECJ) in collaboration with the Department of Geological Engineering – Faculty of Engineering of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) in a series of International Conference on Geological Engineering and Geosciences (ICGoES) with the theme of Big City Challenges on Geohazard and Georesources on Saturday, 20 March 2021 last weekend. This time, the ECJ was reorganised virtually via Zoom and Live Youtube and was attended by around 250 students from UGM and several other Universities in Indonesia.

Senior Manager Corporate Communications of PT Agincourt Resources, Katarina Siburian Hardono said, in spite of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, PT Agincourt Resources continues to commit to holding this ECJ program in 2021. “This time, we present Ruli Tanio, the Director of Engineering of PT Agincourt Resources who will present the topic of the Latest Technological Advancement. Ruli discusses the latest technology that has been applied in mining companies such as in Martabe Gold Mine operated by PT Agincourt Resources,” said Katarina. During his presentation, Ruli Tanio is accompanied by a moderator, a representative from Universitas Gajah Mada namely Dr. Eng. Ir. Lucas Donny Setijadji, ST., M.Sc., IPU, a Lecturer and Researcher of Geological Engineering Major of the Faculty of Engineering of Universitas Gajah Mada.
Katarina stated that it is an honour to PT Agincourt Resources to be able to re-collaborate with Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) in the conference that is a forum for international researchers, academicians, practitioners, policy makers, and relevant communities to discuss, share, and exchange their latest researches, latest cases, reviews and development related to the geological engineering and geoscience sector. “We would like to express our gratitude to Pak Agung Setianto as the Department Head of Geological Engineering of the Faculty of Engineering of UGM and team for your trust to Agincourt Resources to hold the E-Coaching Jam, this is the second time we have collaboration with UGM,” kata Katarina.
ECJ is one of PT Agincourt Resources’ annual programs as the form of the company’s real support in improving the quality of education in Indonesia. ECJ becomes a platform for both online and face-to-face communication between students and many mining practitioners/experts from Martabe Gold Mine. Since its first implementation in 2014, ECJ has succeeded in bridging discussions of more than 40 mining experts with 3,000 students throughout Indonesia. This program has also been awarded the 2019 Indonesian CSR Awards.
Through ECJ, students from several majors related to mining are expected to be able to grasp the new knowledge and understanding in mining industry, so that in the future, they are more prepared in facing the working world. “Certainly with the implementation of this ECJ program, we hope that the knowledge and experience shared by the speakers can prepare students to enter the working world in mining industry,” said Katarina.
Katarina affirmed that PT Agincourt Resources still commits to continuing to develop and hold the ECJ to become a medium to facilitate the improvement of the academic quality of students, so that they are better prepared to enter the working world in mining industry.
