Batangtoru, 10 August 2021 — PT Agincourt Resources (PTAR), the operator of the Martabe Gold Mine, held the second phase of the Mutual Cooperation Vaccination (VGR) program from Sunday, 8 August 2021 to Tuesday, 10 August 2021. The Sinopharm vaccination program targeting 950 PTAR employees and contractors and their families were held in the area of Terminal Gate and Permata Shelter, Martabe Gold Mine, South Tapanuli. A total of 280 people managed to get vaccinated on the first day of the second phase of the VGR program, Sunday (8/8).

As of 8 August 2021, PTAR employees and contractors who have received the first dose of vaccine are 2,088 of the total 3,302 employees or 63 per cent. Meanwhile, PTAR employees and contractors who were recorded to have received the second dose of vaccine were 807 or around 24 per cent.
The second phase of the VGR program also received special attention from South Tapanuli District Head, Dolly P. Pasaribu and his staff. In addition, elements of the Southern Tapanuli Regional Leadership Communication Forum (Forkopimda), such as the Chief of South Tapanuli Police Command, AKBP Roman Smaradhana Elhaj, SIK and the Commander of Kodim (District Military Command) 0212/South Tapanuli, Lt. Col. INF Rooy Chandra Sihombing, SIP, also witnessed firsthand the implementation of the vaccination at the Martabe Gold Mine, Sunday (8/8).
Rahmat Lubis, General Manager Operations of PTAR expressed his gratitude to the South Tapanuli District Head and his staff who saw firsthand the implementation of this second phase of vaccination. “The visit of the District Head and his staff is a huge moral support for us, to work together in handling and overcoming the spread of Covid-19,” said Rahmat. According to Rahmat, the VGR program has long been planned to be held. Even from earlier this year. “We have ordered it since 5 months ago, but we only received the first phase of VGR two weeks ago, for the first injection,” he added.
Rahmat explained that many things have been executed at the Martabe Gold Mine in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic which has lasted for about 16 months. “We attempt to make sure all employees are healthy and the business can still run well despite obstacles here and there,” said Rahmat.
Meanwhile, South Tapanuli District Head greatly appreciated the second phase of the VGR program which was carried out at the Martabe Gold Mine. “I appreciate and thank PTAR Management, in terms of taking care of the entire extended family of Agincourt Resources employees to avoid the Covid-19 virus, we hope that the implementation of the second phase of the Mutual Cooperation Vaccination will go well and all of the PTAR family can be vaccinated so they are always healthy and can be productive even with restrictions,” said Dolly.
The District Head also conveyed his support, “I think this is very good because, with this Mutual Cooperation Vaccination, the target for the number of vaccinated populations will be more and more achieved. The goal, of course, is to achieve herd immunity more quickly. This is one of our ways to deal with the Covid-19 pandemic in Indonesia, especially the reduction in the number of COVID-19 in South Tapanuli,” said Dolly.
As is known, the implementation of the Mutual Cooperation Vaccination program is a form of PTAR’s commitment to prioritizing protection for all employees and their families from exposure to the Covid-19 virus. In addition to participating in the success of the government programs, the VGR program is intended to maintain or even increase the productivity of all PTAR employees and contractor employees to support the national economic recovery through the mining industry.
Meanwhile, until 8 August 2021, the data on PTAR employees, contractor employees and their families recorded 2,360 who had received the first dose of vaccine and 858 people had received the second dose of vaccine.

Senior Manager Corporate Communications, Katarina Siburian Hardono said PTAR continuously conducts socialization for both employees and the community around the mine site to maintain the health of themselves and their families and comply with health protocols from the local government and the Covid-19 task force. “The company also continues to encourage employees and contractors to get vaccinated so that public health resilience, especially in South Tapanuli is further strengthened and the herd immunity target can be achieved immediately,” said Katarina.
