Managing Mining Responsibly, Protecting the Environment for Future Generations

Jun 17, 2026

Commitment to environmental protection remains an integral part of responsible mining practices at the Martabe Gold Mine. For Agincourt Resources, operational sustainability is not solely measured by production performance, but also by how the Company ensures that all activities are carried out in alignment with environmental protection efforts and compliance with applicable regulations.

This commitment continues to be reinforced through various environmental management initiatives consistently implemented by the Company, ranging from water quality management, air monitoring, waste management, biodiversity conservation, to the implementation of environmental monitoring systems conducted regularly and systematically.

Since the beginning of its operations, Agincourt Resources has continuously strengthened the implementation of good mining practice through technology-based approaches, layered monitoring systems, and the active involvement of multiple stakeholders in environmental monitoring processes. One of the Company’s key priorities is ensuring that all process water generated from operations meets required quality standards before being safely discharged back into the environment through strict and sustainable management practices.

Manager Environmental of Agincourt Resources, Mahmud Subagya, emphasised that environmental stewardship remains a top priority in every aspect of the Company’s operations.

“For Agincourt Resources, environmental management is not merely an operational obligation, but part of the Company’s long-term commitment to ensuring that mining activities are carried out responsibly, transparently, and continue to provide the highest level of environmental protection within and around our operational areas.”

Beyond internal environmental management efforts, the involvement of local government and surrounding communities also plays an important role in maintaining transparency in environmental oversight. Various routine monitoring activities are conducted together with integrated monitoring teams involving representatives from local government institutions, communities, and independent parties as part of an open and accountable monitoring mechanism.

The Regent of South Tapanuli, H. Gus Irawan Pasaribu, expressed his appreciation for Agincourt Resources’ consistency in maintaining its environmental management commitment and hopes that the Company’s mining practices will continue to serve as a model for responsible mining implementation across North Sumatra.

The remarks were delivered during the World Environment Day 2026 commemoration held at Sipirok Botanical Garden on 17th June 2026. “We highly appreciate Agincourt Resources’ continued commitment and serious efforts in implementing responsible environmental management. Collaboration between the Company, government, and communities serves as an important foundation to ensure operational activities remain aligned with environmental protection while delivering long-term benefits for regional development.”

In addition to ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, the Company continues to strengthen the implementation of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles through land rehabilitation programmes, conservation efforts in the Batang Toru ecosystem, waste management initiatives, biodiversity monitoring, and the reinforcement of an operational culture focused on sustainability.

Through an adaptive, data-driven approach and the active involvement of multiple stakeholders, Agincourt Resources continues to demonstrate that mining activities can operate in harmony with environmental protection. This approach forms an important part of maintaining public trust while ensuring that the benefits of mining continue to be enjoyed by communities today and by future generations.
