Community Health Visits: 504 Households Reached

Oct 1, 2026

Bringing healthcare services closer to communities requires the active involvement of various parties, including health cadres who serve as a link between healthcare facilities and communities. Through home visits, cadres help identify community health conditions and needs more closely while supporting the implementation of the Primary Healthcare Integration (Integrasi Layanan Primer/ILP) Programme. To ensure that the programme is implemented as intended, regular evaluations are conducted as part of efforts to strengthen healthcare services in Batang Toru and Muara Batang Toru Subdistricts.

A total of 20 Integrated Healthcare Post (Pos Pelayanan Terpadu/Posyandu) health cadres and four representatives from the Batang Toru and Hutaraja Community Health Centres (Pusat Kesehatan Masyarakat/Puskesmas) took part in the monthly evaluation held at Batang Toru Community Health Centre on 1 October 2026. The activity included a review of home visit implementation and counselling for cadres to support programme implementation in their respective areas.

In September 2026, cadres visited 504 households out of a target of 640, achieving 78.75 per cent. The visits covered 16 villages and urban wards across Batang Toru and Muara Batang Toru Subdistricts. This achievement served as one of the evaluation points to assess the implementation of home visits and identify areas that still need to be strengthened.

The evaluation also provided an opportunity for cadres to share their experiences while conducting home visits in their respective areas. Through regular reviews, achievements can be measured, challenges can be identified, and follow-up actions can be developed based on conditions in the field. In this way, the implementation of the Primary Healthcare Integration Programme at community level can continue to be strengthened and become more targeted.

Superintendent Community Services Yayan Nuryawan said that evaluation is needed to assess the extent to which the programme has been implemented in line with its established objectives. In addition to measuring achievements, the evaluation provides an opportunity for cadres to learn from what has worked well and identify aspects that still need to be improved in their respective areas.

“Evaluation is essential because it helps us measure achievements, identify shortcomings, and improve our next steps so that the objectives can be achieved effectively,” he said.
