Youth Mining Camp Competition of 2021 (2021 YMCC) is a mining competition event organized by the Mining Engineering Student Association of UPN “Veteran” Yogyakarta. Through YMCC, each participant from various universities will compete with each other, establish networks, and exchange experiences between mining students from all over Indonesia. YMCC aims to increase competence and knowledge about the mining world and also train competitiveness in a healthy manner and as an impetus to form an excellent mining generation in the future.

YMCC is a biennial routine activity as a development of the Yogya Mining Competition (YMC) work program which was previously held on a provincial scale for 8 consecutive years. Then since 2016, YMC has grown bigger to become YMCC and has a national scale.

In the E-Coaching Jam webinar, Wira Dharma Putra delivered his presentation themed “Martabe Gold Mine: Technological Innovation for Mining Sustainability”. In his presentation, Wira Dharma Putra explained the concept and application of technological innovation at the Martabe Gold Mine in creating a sustainable mining industry.

Wira Dharma Putra stated that through the E-Coaching Jam event, PTAR as the operator of the Martabe Gold Mine could provide a real picture of the mining industry to students who would later work in the mining industry. “PTAR also has the opportunity to share information about the company’s contribution to the community, environmental management efforts and the benefits of having a sustainable mine for the surrounding community,” said Wira.

Senior Manager Corporate Communications of PT Agincourt Resources, Katarina Siburian Hardono, stated that it was an honour for PTAR to be able to support the Young Mining Camp Competition (YMCC) activity organized by the Mining Engineering Association of UPN “Veteran” Yogyakarta. “This ECJ is the second ECJ in 2021, where previously Agincourt Resources collaborated with Gadjah Mada University (UGM) in March 2021,” said Katarina.

Katarina emphasized that this support is a manifestation of the Martabe Gold Mine’s commitment to supporting the improvement of the quality of education in Indonesia, where through ECJ, students from various majors related to mining are expected to gain new knowledge and understanding of the mining industry so that later they will be better prepared to enter the workforce. Since it was first implemented in 2014, ECJ has succeeded in bridging the discussions of more than 40 mining experts with more than 3,000 students throughout Indonesia. This E-Coaching Jam program received the CSR Indonesia Awards in 2019.

Niken Seviola, a Mining Engineering student of UPN class 2019 stated that from participating in the E-Coaching Jam, she gained new knowledge related to gold mineral processing that was not obtained from lectures. “The presentation of the material is also very detailed and arouses curiosity, so it adds insight and makes me update on new innovative technologies that are currently developing. Thank you to YMCC and Agincourt Resources who have organized this E-Coaching Jam, thank you also to Bapak Wira who has provided the materials,” said Niken.
