This position will be based at the Martabe Gold Mine Site within the Geotechnical & Survey Department and will report directly to the Senior Engineer – Hydrogeology.
The Engineer – Hydrogeology will be responsible in supporting Martabe Mine Operations through the planning, coordination, and execution of daily hydrogeological activities. The role includes assessing surface water and groundwater conditions, implementing slope depressurization and mine dewatering strategies, maintaining hydrogeological monitoring systems, and preparing technical reports. The incumbent will also evaluate additional monitoring and depressurization requirements, conduct technical assessments, and contribute to the continuous improvement of hydrogeological procedures and controls.
Working closely with Mine Operations and other relevant stakeholders, the successful candidate will support safe and efficient mining activities under the guidance of the Senior Engineer – Hydrogeology and the Geotechnical & Hydrogeology Superintendent.
Applicants should possess the following qualifications and competencies:
- Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Geological Engineering, Mining Engineering, or a related discipline. A Master’s degree in Hydrogeology will be an advantage.
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in hydrogeology within open-pit mining operations.
- Strong experience in hydrogeological characterization to support mine slope stability, pit development, contaminated site investigations, and Acid Mine Drainage (AMD) management.
- Good command of both written and spoken English.
- Sound knowledge and practical experience in hydrogeological modeling software, such as MODFLOW.
- Proficient in the use of Surpac and AutoCAD
