To Support the Implementation of MTQ in South Tapanuli District, PTAR Provides a Prize in The Form of Umra

Batangtoru, 18 March 2023 – PT Agincourt Resources (PTAR) the operator of the Martabe Gold Mine, once again supported the implementation of the 55th Quran Recital Competition (Musabaqah Tilawatil Quran or “MTQ”) at the South Tapanuli district level, which was held at Panabari Field, Huta Tonga, Tantom Angkola. PTAR provided support in the form of an Umra package for the 1st winner of the MTQ competition worth IDR 35 million.

According to PTAR Senior Manager Community, Christine Pepah, this support is part of the Community Empowerment and Development program, particularly in the religious field and is a form of PTAR’s commitment to developing the religious sector in the operational area.

“We had also given a prize in the form of Umra package during the 2019 and 2022 MTQ of South Tapanuli District,” explained Christine.

Meanwhile, the South Tapanuli District Head, Dolly Putra Parlindungan Pasaribu, in his speech at the opening of the activity thanked all parties who had contributed to the success of this activity.

“All of your good cooperation made this MTQ activity so grand and festive,” said the District Head.

In implementing the MTQ at the district level, 561 participants from 15 subdistricts throughout the South Tapanuli district took part. PTAR also opened an exhibition booth displaying various products from the company’s assisted SMEs.

In addition to support for the implementation of the MTQ at the district level, PTAR also regularly provides support for the implementation of the MTQ at the subdistrict level in Batangtoru Subdistrict.

Christine added, as another manifestation of the Community Empowerment and Development program in the religious field, in the month of Ramadan this year, PTAR will hold an annual activity entitled Gema Ramadhan (Echoes of Ramadan) in Batangtoru Subdistrict.

In carrying out this activity, PTAR collaborated with the Religious Affairs Office (KUA), the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), and religious leaders in the Batangtoru and Muara Batangtoru Subdistrict communities.

Gema Ramadhan will be packaged in the form of various competitions, including young preacher lecture competitions, azan competitions, children and youth Quran memorization competitions, Quran syarhil competitions, mujawwad competitions, and also giving donations to orphans.

The registration for this activity is now open and will be attended by participants from villages in Batangtoru and Muara Batangtoru Subdistricts.

“The aim of the Community Empowerment and Development program in the religious field is to instill and increase religious values, deepen religious knowledge, especially among children and adolescents,” concluded Christine.
