Artificial insemination is a crucial initial step in producing superior livestock genetics through the use of superior parentage sperm. Through artificial insemination, the resulting offspring have the potential for significantly higher quality, positively impacting farmers’ income. PT Agincourt Resources (PTAR) supports the Ministry of Agriculture’s GBIB program (Gertak Birahi and Inseminasi Buatan) by organizing a Field School for Artificial Insemination for the Livestock Volunteer Health Group (Sukakeswan) from Wednesday to Friday, November 8-10, 2023, in the Batangtoru Subdistrict.
Through this training, it is expected that the 12 members of the Sukakeswan in attendance will acquire additional knowledge related to identifying eligible livestock for GBIB, improving livestock quality (both in terms of feed and animal health) to meet the requirements for heat detection hormone injections, and the process of conducting injections directly in the field. In addition to theoretical instruction, participants in this training is also guided to practice the Pregnancy Examination (PKB) and hormone injection practices with a dosage of 5 ml per head.
