Children and teenagers from South Tapanuli, Central Tapanuli, and Sibolga showcased their talents at the 2024 Sopo Daganak Art Festival. Their abilities and creativity in dance and vocal arts were put to the test in this annual event organized by Agincourt Resources and the Perkumpulan Sahabat Cerdas (Persada) community. The event took place at the Sopo Daganak Hall in Batang Toru, South Tapanuli, North Sumatra, on Thursday, November 7, 2024.
Yayan Nuryawan, Superintendent of Community Services at Agincourt Resources, stated in his speech that the event aimed to provide a platform for young people to develop themselves and foster a love for customs and culture. “We at Agincourt Resources believe that through activities like this in the era of globalization, young people’s appreciation for their customs and culture will grow stronger,” he said.

Sahril Siregar, Assistant III of the South Tapanuli Regency Government, expressed his appreciation for the efforts of Agincourt Resources and Persada in organizing the Sopo Daganak Art Festival. “President Prabowo has strongly emphasized the need to eradicate the rampant online gambling. With events like this, young people can better express themselves and be diverted from negative activities,” he emphasized.
Elvi Monika Wruhu, the first-place winner of the group vocal competition from SMA Negeri 3 Kota Sibolga, expressed her joy and pride in their achievement. “This victory was the result of a lot of hard work, despite various limitations. Thank God, everything was made easy so that we could become champions. Thank you to our school for their continuous support, and also thank you to Agincourt Resources for organizing this event,” she said.
