The National OHS Month serves as a crucial opportunity to foster awareness and strengthen the culture of safety in the workplace.

Agincourt Resources’ General Manager Operations & Deputy Director Operations, who also serves as the Head of Mining Engineering (KTT), Rahmat Lubis, expressed his hope that the ceremony would go beyond being merely ceremonial. “OHS is not just an annual agenda; it is a fundamental necessity to ensure we all remain healthy and safe. The company must ensure everyone adheres to OHS procedures, but what is most crucial is the individual awareness of every person within the Martabe Gold Mine environment,” he stated.

Rahmat also stressed the importance of learning from the fatality incident that occurred in 2024. “In 2024, we experienced one fatality, and this must not happen again,” he asserted. To commemorate National OHS Month, he encouraged everyone to commit to safety by implementing five key measures which are, strict supervision of high-risk work by competent supervisors, adherence to established procedures and dissemination of information to all involved workers, proper rest periods to prevent fatigue, ensuring operational equipment is inspected and deemed fit for use, and conducting work safely at all times.  “OHS is a culture that we must live out every day,” he added.
