May 22, 2025

Agincourt Resources’ commitment to enhancing the quality of education and promoting environmental sustainability continues to gain recognition. On Thursday, 22 May 2025, five schools from South Tapanuli Regency were honored as Environmentally Conscious Schools (Adiwiyata) for 2024 during the Environmental Awards Ceremony held by the North Sumatra Provincial Environment and Forestry Office at the Raja Inal Siregar Hall, Governor’s Office of North Sumatra. Three of these schools were directly mentored by Agincourt Resources.

Two partner schools, namely SMP Negeri 1 Batang Toru and SD Negeri 1001712 Hapesong Lama, successfully earned the National-level Adiwiyata designation. Another partner school, SD Negeri 100714 Garoga, received the Provincial-level Adiwiyata recognition. In addition, two other schools from South Tapanuli Regency, SD Negeri 100104 Sitinjak and SMP Negeri 3 Tantom Angkola, also attained the Provincial-level Adiwiyata title. These achievements are the result of intensive mentoring conducted by Agincourt Resources in collaboration with the South Tapanuli Environmental Agency and the Semut Merah Environmental Care Foundation. The mentoring process focused not only on meeting administrative requirements but also on cultivating a culture of environmental awareness that is deeply integrated into daily teaching and learning activities.

“We believe that education and environmental stewardship must go hand in hand. Through this program, we aim to ensure that our children grow not only with academic intelligence but also with early ecological consciousness,” said Nurhanifah Pulungan, Senior Supervisor Community at Agincourt Resources, during the ceremony.

The event also included the presentation of the Green PROPER Award from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry through the North Sumatra Environment and Forestry Office. Director of External Relations at Agincourt Resources Sanny Tjan, was present to represent the company.

The Adiwiyata program is a national initiative aimed at cultivating environmentally conscious and responsible schools. It has become an integral part of Agincourt Resources’ Community Development and Empowerment Program. Through this involvement, the company actively supports Ministry of Environment and Forestry Regulations Number 52 and 53 of 2019, which promote private sector participation in school-based environmental education.   This achievement is expected to serve as an inspiration for more schools across North Sumatra to integrate sustainability values into their educational practices. With a spirit of collaboration and consistent mentoring, Agincourt Resources remains committed to being a partner in nurturing a future generation that is environmentally conscious and prepared to face global challenges.
