The management of processed water from mining operations extends beyond meeting technical standards; it also encompasses openness in communicating information to the public. Agincourt Resources demonstrates this commitment by providing a detailed explanation of the stages of processed water management, including its discharge into the Batang Toru River.

Before being released into the river, processed water undergoes a series of treatment stages, including sedimentation, pH adjustment, and monitoring of various quality parameters to ensure full compliance with government regulatory standards. Each stage is closely supervised by the company’s technical team and monitored by relevant authorities.

As part of its transparency efforts, water sampling is conducted at five monitoring points representing areas before and after the discharge of processed water. This process involves an Integrated Monitoring Team comprising representatives from local government, academia, and the community. The collected samples are then tested by an independent laboratory to ensure objective and accountable results.

At the beginning of this year, sampling was once again carried out on 15th February 2026 at five monitoring locations: the final settling pond, the outlet points prior to discharge, the discharge point into the Batang Toru River, and two monitoring points located upstream and downstream of the river. In his statement, Superintendent Environmental Monitoring, Bayu Ariyanto, explained that the sampling process was conducted openly and jointly witnessed to ensure that all procedures and standards were properly followed. He emphasised that multi-stakeholder involvement reflects the company’s commitment to environmental transparency and accountability.

Through this approach, Agincourt Resources not only ensures regulatory compliance but also encourages public participation in environmental oversight. Transparency in every stage, from treatment to laboratory testing, plays a vital role in building public trust and sustaining responsible mining operations. With measured management practices and consistent openness, the company strives to ensure that mining activities remain aligned with environmental protection and the interests of surrounding communities.
