Investing in Henna Artists: A Boost for the Local Economy

Agincourt Resources once again reaffirms its commitment to empowering communities surrounding its operational areas. This time, the Company organized a skill enhancement program for its Henna Artist trainees in Sumuran Village, Batang Toru District, on July 18-19, 2024. This event was a continuation of the Henna Art training conducted in April 2024 for 15 young men and women. In this enhancement program, the Henna Artist trainees received additional knowledge under the guidance of instructors from Azzam Henna Art Kota Padangsidempuan. 

Agincourt Resources’ Community Development Manager, Rohani Simbolon, stated that this activity aims to improve the skills of the Henna Artist trainees in applying various henna techniques. “With their increasingly proficient skills, it is hoped that the Henna Artist trainees can improve their competitiveness and increase their income. The Company hopes that with this activity, the Henna Artist trainees can become successful and independent entrepreneurs,” explained Rohani.

During the 2-day training, the Henna Artist trainees learned various henna techniques, such as basic techniques, shading, and trending henna motifs. In addition, they also received training on how to effectively market their products and services. 

Sri Rahayu Hasibuan, one of the Henna Art training participants, expressed her gratitude to Agincourt Resources for the opportunity. “I am very happy to attend this training. I learned many new techniques that I can apply in my work,” said Sri Rahayu.
