General Manager Operations & Deputy Director Operations of PT Agincourt Resources, Rahmat Lubis, believes that the Martabe Prestasi Scholarship is part of PTAR’s efforts to support students who have a high learning motivation but face economic limitations.

“By providing greater access to education, we aim to nurture future leaders, especially from the surrounding community of the mine, who will contribute meaningfully to the nation and society. Guided by this commitment, we have consistently implemented the Martabe Prestasi Scholarship program for students in South Tapanuli and Padangsidimpuan, now entering its ninth year,” said Rahmat while attending the awarding ceremony of the Martabe Prestasi Scholarship Program at Sopo Daganak, Batang Toru, on Friday (July 25, 2025).

The Martabe Prestasi Scholarship Program also contributes to achieving the 4th Sustainable Development Goal (SDG), which is to provide inclusive, equitable, and quality education at all levels.

“This program is in accordance with our commitment to sustainable mining practices, particularly in contributing positively to society through various initiatives, including the advancement of human resources via educational development,” said Rahmat.

This commitment is proven by PTAR’s consistency in awarding scholarships to 2,697 students, with the total of Rp18.79 billion, since 2017 until 2025. The number of scholarship recipients and the total scholarship budget for the 2025/2026 academic year are the highest in the 9 years of implementing the Martabe Prestasi Scholarship.

The Head of the South Tapanuli Education Office, Arman Pasaribu, expressed his appreciation for PTAR’s consistency in supporting the world of education.

“We sincerely appreciate PTAR’s continued commitment to advancing the quality of education, particularly in the communities surrounding its operational areas. It is our hope that this scholarship program will deliver tangible benefits to our children and inspire them to contribute meaningfully to the region’s development in the future,” he said.

One of the scholarship recipients, Aisyah Pardede, intends to use the financial assistance to cover her tuition fees and daily living expenses while pursuing her studies at Diponegoro University. Coming from a modest family, supported by her father’s work as a firewood farmer, Aisyah stated that the scholarship from PTAR has given her renewed hope to continue her education and achieve her aspirations, despite the economic challenges she faces.

“This assistance eases the financial load on my family and motivates me to study with greater focus and confidence,” he said.

In addition to the Martabe Prestasi Scholarship Program, PTAR consistently conducts various capacity-building initiatives in the education sector, including the Focused Learning Program, teacher training, and opening a Basic Mechanic Course in collaboration with the UT School.
