Jakarta, 28 October 2025 – PT Agincourt Resources, the operator of Martabe Gold Mine, once again achieved remarkable success by winning two 2025 Subroto Awards from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM). The awards include the category of Innovative Mineral Community Development and Empowerment (PPM) through the flagship program Economic Independence Pillar: The Role of Bagas Silua in Advancing Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (UMKM), as well as an award in the field of Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP) for Minerals.
The two awards were presented directly by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) to the Vice President Director of PT Agincourt Resources, Ruli Tanio, at the Subroto Awards main ceremony in Jakarta on Friday, 24 October 2025.

Ruli Tanio stated that this award is a recognition of the Company’s commitment to creating sustainable benefits for communities around the mine. The award also represents the Company’s contribution to good mining practice and compliance with fiscal regulations in the energy and mineral resources sector.
“In addition to being designed as a place to sell products from the UMKM we mentor, Bagas Silua has been developed as a local economic ecosystem to improve the community’s quality of life. We want to ensure that the people of Batang Toru and its surroundings have the opportunity to grow alongside us and remain self-reliant even after the mine ceases operations,” he said.
The Bagas Silua program is part of the economic independence pillar in PT Agincourt Resources (PTAR) Community Development and Empowerment (PPM) strategy. Through capacity building, market access, and product innovation, PTAR strives to create a sustainable community business model and support the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 8, which focuses on economic growth and decent work.
Souvenir Shop
Christine Pepah, Senior Manager of Community at PT Agincourt Resources, stated that Bagas Silua, which means “Souvenir Shop” in the local language, is a PTAR initiative focused on the development of micro, small, and medium enterprises (UMKM) in the Batang Toru and Muara Batang Toru districts of South Tapanuli. Its location is highly strategic, situated along the main route across North Sumatra Province, near the operational area of the Martabe Gold Mine.
“We want Bagas Silua to be a comfortable place for anyone to enjoy Batang Toru’s local cuisine while supporting local UMKM. We will continue to provide guidance and support to UMKM actors so that their products improve in quality and can compete in broader markets,” she said.

Launched in September 2024, to date, 32 partner UMKM under PTAR’s guidance have marketed their products at Bagas Silua. The product range includes local culinary specialties such as taro chips, dried bananas, watermelon chips, and purple coconut root, as well as local fashion items like South Tapanuli batik and ecoprint fabrics. All Bagas Silua products can also be easily accessed through the website bagassilua.id and its official Instagram account.
In addition, the gallery offers screen printing and modern packaging services to help business owners enhance the competitiveness of their products. Each month, dozens of products are sold, generating total transactions amounting to tens of millions of rupiah.
“With the support of the local government and the communities surrounding the mine, we hope Bagas Silua can become a symbol of local economic and cultural empowerment,” said Christine.
