Planned Youth, Secured Future: GENRE Goes to School Visits SMP Negeri 2 Muara Batang Toru

May 26, 2026

As part of its commitment to improving public health quality and empowering young people, Agincourt Resources, through its Community Development and Empowerment (PPM) programme, once again supported the implementation of the Generasi Berencana (GENRE) Goes to School programme held at Muara Batang Toru State Junior High School 2 on 26 May 2026. The activity was carried out through collaboration between the South Tapanuli GENRE Forum, the South Tapanuli Regency Population Control and Family Planning Agency (PPKB), and Family Planning Field Counsellors (PLKB) of Muara Batang Toru.

Through this educational initiative, teenagers were encouraged to understand the importance of planning their future from an early age, maintaining reproductive health, and avoiding various risky behaviours, such as early marriage, the misuse of narcotics, psychotropic substances, and other addictive substances (NAPZA), as well as promiscuity.

A total of 95 participants attended the activity, consisting of students, teachers, the school principal, representatives of the South Tapanuli Regency PPKB Agency, the South Tapanuli GENRE Forum, and Agincourt Resources representatives. The programme was conducted interactively through educational sessions, discussions, and experience-sharing activities aimed at increasing young people’s understanding of the importance of planning a healthy and high-quality future.

In her remarks, Agincourt Resources Community Health Supervisor, Missy Lubis, stated that one of the company’s commitments in the health sector, as outlined in its Community Development and Empowerment programme, is supporting adolescent health through the GENRE Programme.

“The main objective of the GENRE Programme is to prevent risky behaviour among teenagers, build positive character in the younger generation, and encourage young people to become peer educators within their communities. Through the GENRE Goes to School initiative, we hope students will gain broader knowledge about the GENRE Programme and be able to identify various adolescent issues within the school environment at an early stage,” she said.

The Principal of Muara Batang Toru State Junior High School 2, Gursal Harahap, also expressed appreciation to Agincourt Resources for its continued contribution to the community, particularly to the students of the school. “We would like to thank Agincourt Resources for consistently contributing to the development of young people. We hope that the GENRE ambassadors will become role models who inspire teenagers to plan their future wisely, avoid risky behaviours such as early marriage, free sex, and NAPZA misuse, and actively disseminate information on reproductive health and marriage age maturity,” said Gursal Harahap.
