Noise Monitoring to Protect the Environment at the Martabe Gold Mine

Jun 12, 2026

Noise pollution is one of the forms of environmental pollution that can directly affect people’s quality of life. Excessive noise levels have the potential to cause a range of health issues, including stress, sleep disturbances, reduced concentration, and an increased risk of hearing impairment. Over the long term, uncontrolled exposure to noise can also affect productivity and comfort, both in the workplace and within communities surrounding operational areas.

Mining activities are among the sources of noise that require careful management. Such noise may originate from the operation of heavy equipment, blasting activities, and the movement of vehicles that support mining operations. Therefore, effective noise management and monitoring are essential to maintaining a safe and comfortable working environment while minimising potential impacts on communities surrounding the Martabe Gold Mine.

As part of its commitment to responsible environmental management, Agincourt Resources routinely conducts noise level monitoring at various locations identified within the Environmental Impact Assessment (AMDAL) document. This monitoring is carried out to ensure that operational activities remain within the applicable environmental quality standards.

In addition to conducting regular monitoring, Agincourt Resources also ensures compliance with noise level requirements as stipulated in the Minister of Environment Decree No. Kep-48/MENLH/11/1996 concerning Noise Quality Standards. The monitoring results serve as an important basis for evaluating potential environmental impacts and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Through consistent monitoring and measured management practices, Agincourt Resources continues to safeguard environmental quality within and around its operational areas. These efforts form part of the Company’s commitment to creating a safe, healthy, and comfortable environment while supporting sustainable operations aligned with Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles.
