Eid al-Adha 1446 H Celebration at the Martabe Gold Mine: Unity in Blessings

Jun 6, 2025

The celebration of Eid al-Adha 1446 Hijri at the Martabe Gold Mine site was held with deep reverence and a spirit of sharing on Friday, 6 June 2025. The commemoration began with the Eid prayer at Al-Muhajirin Mosque, attended by dozens of employees and contractors.

A serene atmosphere filled the mosque as Ustaz Ahmad Yusri Nasution delivered a heartfelt sermon highlighting the essence of sacrifice as an act of obedience, sincerity, and social compassion. He invited the congregation to reflect on Eid al-Adha as a spiritual journey that guides the heart towards wholehearted devotion. “Just as Prophet Ibrahim was willing to sacrifice what he loved most, we too are tested to give sincerely, persevere with patience, and help with pure intentions,” he stated. He also expressed his appreciation for Agincourt Resources’ continued commitment to using religious moments as an opportunity to strengthen both spiritual and social bonds in the workplace and surrounding communities.

The celebration continued with the ritual slaughter of sacrificial animals at the Small Gate of Camp Permata and in Sihuik-huik, South Angkola. A total of three cows and one goat were offered by employees, with the distribution process supported by the Insan Mulia PAMA Foundation (YIMP) Martabe. Additionally, 32 sacrificial animals—31 cows and 1 goat—were donated to communities surrounding the mine’s operational areas. Most of the sacrificial animals were purchased from foster groups under the Animal Health Volunteer (Sukakeswan) program and local farmers around Batang Toru and Muara Batang Toru Districts, as a form of Agincourt Resources’ support for the local economy and community empowerment.
